Tonight we managed to kill 8 greater evils in Ulduar.  We set many new records, and over all it was a totally awesome raid, with good laughs and great attitude.

Especially noteworthy is that our group today consisted of at least five of us "weaklings" who was not good enough for the people who left DPC.  Three weeks ago I was turned down because of crappy DPS, I think we did prove tonight that attitude has also a lot to say.  I am just very very glad that after the two-three quite dark weeks with lots of quarrels and stupid discussions about numbers, I have finally seen that I have been right all the time, at least partially, we are strong enough to go to Ulduar!

I just talked to Aylá in GRS channel about DPC

Could we make some sort of continuously add about DPC so our new members know that DPC is "our" raid-community?

Alternative is that we add some "news from the front" section at our monday meetings  wink

I think that is a great idea Bildur, news from the Front should indeed be incorporated into the meetings, sometimes it has happened organically, but I'll add it to the agenda (ie remind me in a whisper when I forget)  cheesy

Necromancing the topic because Kirre said something in another topic about getting invites to DPS raids

Anyone who wishes can apply to DPC here: www.darkphoenixcompany.org

We are not always open for recruitment of special classes and we are expecting recruits to be geared to the places we have on our calender.
You can check your status here: www.wow-heroes.com. Put on your best stuff and right spec and hit the "look up" button.

We are right now preparing to start raiding ICC Lower Spire 25 man. (End Feb 2010). Raid times are Wednesday - Friday and Saturday.

It is quite obvious, that it is difficult to reach that level without raiding but it is possible. I am very prepared to go on shopping sprees with interested peeps from GRS and GRS S:S for gear. We can hit VOA for the t10 leggings (I need them too :)), RND Hcs for frosties and generally collect gear in totc.

It is absolutely possible to gear up for ICC.  From early december to late january the average level of my gear raised from around 210-245, mainly by doing heroics.  There should be about 4-5 items of lvl 245 you can use if you spend Triumph emblems, and if you manage to collect some frost emblems there are even 4-5 more items you can get that are of lvl 264.  I have done this, and still want 2 more of the 264 items.

In addition to this I have gotten all the useful items I can find in ICC 5-man dungeons.

If that is not enough, there should be some good items for sale on AH now and then.

This is something everyone can do if they commit about an hour ever day for a few weeks, so if you like to raid, climb the ladder, it may be boring, but it is easy.

It's also worth noting that gear isn't the be all and end all of what's needed.

It's worth spending a while reading up on the best specs, gems, enchants and glyphs to use. A good read up on some theory about how to play a class well is also time well spent.

I've spent a lot of time reading some (often confusing) information about being a mutilate rogue and I like to think it's payed off.

I have mostly listened to Dwoozles lections, and I can only say they have payed off well.  smile

So ask around if you need advices.  Guidance from other people is probably at least 10-20% of my dps today.

I'm always free (though not always in a good mood  evil ) if someone needs a bit of advice or pointers to where to get advice (I'm not the font of all knowledge, but I haz good weblinks!) on warriors (arms, fury and protection), hunters, a bit of magecraft and some paladin stuff. Do also note that DPC accepts social requests to join our community for the purpose of being in a channel that is geared around making decent groups to instances and gearing up towards higher content.

P.S. Listen to Dwoozle's advice, Ilevel of gear does not always mean better! For example, my hunter has an Ilevel 264 ring and an Ilevel 245 amulet sat in the bank because they're not optimised for her build just yet.

I've seen recently the posts from DPC looking for more recruits. As I would like to at least experience 25 man content before the emphasis turns to 10 man stuff in Cataclysm, I'm wondering if this is the best opportunity to have a stab at it.

There are 4-5 of us in BW that would be interested so what are the experiences of you good folk in the GRS like with them. i.e. would you recommend it?

Unfortunately, we're switching to 10 man for a few weeks.

Some nights on 25 man go better than others. Once we've managed to learn the fights though we seem to rip through the place like a hot knife through butter.

Last night we managed to get 7 bosses down with only one wipe the entire evening.

25 man - Ah bugger.

We also have a brood of new 80 characters that are just gearing up through 5 man Heroics with the intention of doing 10 man content as well. We thought we would start with the old classics like Naxalramus and learn the ropes by good old fashioned trial and error RP'ing as we go.

Maybe if you have some less experienced folk we could mount some joint expeditions?

Just to be raiding together with GRS and Special Service is a good reason to join DPC, don't you all agree?  cheerbounce

Ohh! 10-man again?

Dpc run a schedule of 4 weeks 25-man then 4 week 10-man raiding, as Dwoozle said last night we were hot knife and butter, mind you there was a good contingent sof GRS and Special Service  in the mix so I am not so surprised  cheerbounce.  But if you get into raiding you need to be prepared for those evenings when you clear the mobs only to wipe all night on a single boss and on those nights it is a true test of character to stay positive and focussed.

applicants to DPC is always welcome

you do not need to come to both 10- and 25man. As already stated we alternate between them at approx a 4 week schedule. depends a bit about how fast we progress

you can learn more about us: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MQxgtM11WU&feature=player_embedded (Best viewed in HD).
